This is an association that functions as a subdivision under Red Saree foundation umbrella. Its main mission is to bring all the scientists together who does basic, translational and clinical research on cardiovascular diseases. RedSaree will facilitate the findings and the outcome of the association to reach to the general population.

SailajaParuchuri, Ph.D.

Secretary (Apr 2019- Dec 2022) Red Saree Akron Chapter

Dr. SailajaParuchuri is the Secretory of Akron Chapter. She is currently tenured Associate Professor at the University of Akron. Her research focuses on the role of bioactive lipids in allergy, asthma and cancer. Sailaja obtained PhD from Lund University, Sweden. After post-doctoral training at Harvard Medical School and Cleveland Clinic, she joined as a faculty in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Akron. Her research is supported by grants from NIH and AHA.

Charles Thodeti, PhD

President (Apr 2019- Dec 2022) Red Saree Akron Chapter Dr. Charles Thodeti is the President of Akron Chapter. Charles is currently tenured Associate Professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED). His research focuses on developing novel vascular normalization therapies for cardiac fibrosis, heart failure, diabetic retinopathy and cancer. Charles PhD work was done at University of Hyderabad, India. He then held post-doctoral and faculty positions in Sweden and Denmark before moving to USA. Prior to joining NEOMED, Charles served as an instructor/staff scientist at Harvard Medical School/Boston Children's Hospital. His research is supported by grants from NIH and AHA. He has been recognized at local and national levels with awards such as Fellow of AHA, Fellow of APS-CV section, Junior Faculty Award and Mario Toppo distinguished Scientist award.
