Rama Kasturi, PhD, is originally from Bangalore, India and has lived in the United States since 1985. She is currently serving a second-term as Trustee on the Clifton Town Meeting (CTM), her neighborhood community council. She received her PhD in Biophysical Chemistry from the Ohio State University in 1991. Her has worked as a Staff Scientist at Procter and Gamble, completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at the University of Cincinnati, served as an Assistant Dean in the Office of Graduate Education, College of Medicine and worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology where she served as Director of the Medical Pharmacology Tutorial Program from 1999-201. also served on the board of the Clifton Cooperative Market, raising money to establish a neighborhood grocery store and affording her the opportunity to share her passion for food as medicine. She is excited to have the opportunity to work to enhance the health and well-being of South Asians through community outreach efforts. Rama lives in Clifton, Cincinnati with her family.
Latha Samu is an Enrolled Agent, with 17 years of experience in corporate tax. After working at PWC, San Jose for 14 years and 3 years as Senior Tax Manager at Rovi Corporation, Latha decided to hang up her corporate hat and focus on health and well-being. She has been educating her South Asian friends about the risk of cardiovascular diseases and advocating and mentoring them on eating healthy, exercising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A recent transplant to Cincinnati, Latha volunteers through United Way to prepare tax returns for low-income people and continues to mentor her friends on a healthy lifestyle.
Uday has been based out of Cincinnati for the past two decades and his career encompasses IT sector with roles across various Retail and Financial industry domains. He holds his MBA in Finance from Wright State University, Dayton and has passion for numbers. In his spare time, Uday volunteers to empower small business owners and is interested in helping causes surrounding the under privileged. Apart from being an experimental cook, he enjoys outdoor activities and his new passion has been about flying drones. Uday will be responsible to manage the accounting, funding and project budgeting, and filling the taxes with a help of the charted accountant.
Deepak is one of our Executive Board of Members. He currently serves as the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Cincinnati Children’s hospital and Medical center and the residency program director of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Cincinnati. Deepak is originally from Kerala. He and his wife have been a part of Cincinnati and its Malayali community for over 11 years now. Deepak is a national and international leader in his realm of work. He is a community organizer, and a strategic mentor for several organizations such as Red Saree.
Kaveri is a physician who graduated from Faculty of Medicine at the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka. She completed her residency in New York. Currently she has been working as a Hospitalist at Mercy Hospital Anderson, Cincinnati since 2005 and has been serving as the medical director of The Anderson Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Centre, Cincinnati since 2003. She has also been an active member of the advisory council of International Medical Health Organization since 2014. Kaveri is a very passionate advocate of autism and its awareness. She has conducted several programs to improve public understanding of autism on a local and international scale. She has played a major role in the production of the Tamil translation of the book ‘Ethan the Brave’, titled ‘Theeran’, which aims to spread awareness to different cultures regarding the nurture of children with difficulties. In her spare time, Kaveri enjoys travelling and spending time with her two boys and husband
Kishore Kalikiri Bachelor of Engineering and MBA from Xavier University Tarangini Board of Trustees Jan 2019 till Dec 2022. Kishore Kalikiri, has been living in Cincinnati for the last 16 years. He has been working at Citibank as Application Manager for the last 12 years. He completed MBA with Finance from Xavier University. Community Service is his passion and he has been a volunteer, Executive committee and a Board of Trustee for Tarangini, a non-profit organization in Cincinnati. He was involved in raising more than $25,000 for cyclone victims in Vizag, India, raised money again for earthquake victims in Nepal. He helped raised $110,000 for Prudhvi during workplace shooting in Downtown Cincinnati. Kishore lives in Mason with 2 boys and a beautiful wife.
Subhadra is one of the Executive Board Members and an activist in promoting healthcare awareness programs in the United States. She was graduated from Ethiraj College for Women in Chennai, India. She has been very active in several local South Asian communities and the former president of the Greater Cincinnati Tamil Sangam. She is also actively take part in the American Heart Association programs to promote hearty healthy lifestyles and provide the highest quality in cardiovascular care. She is a writer, speaker and musician.
Shanki is a recent graduate from University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s in Finance and International Business, and currently works at PNC as an Assistant Branch Manager. Prior to PNC, she interned with various companies including GE Aviation and Alliance Data. Shanki’s passion for dance motivated her to join Dhadak, UC’s competitive dance team and recently she completed her diploma in Indian Classical Dance. Shanki was also on the executive board for Midwest Dhamaka, a Bollywood fusion dance competition. Currently she is an executive member of PNC’s Multicultural Employee Business Resource group and enjoys volunteering with Grow Up Great, a program, which strives to help young students achieve success.
